no search function

Im testing MObileFinder, FileMagnet and AirSharing. Theyre all give and take, but none of them could so far come up with a search function. This is a paramount feature which I need for long documents! I dont understand why it shouldnt be possible, i.e. VerseWiseBible has it, so Im sure its available in the OS.
Besides, I find the connection via FTP quite complicated. Why not implement BonJour, its available and sooo easy???
